The Lower Falls of the Yellowstone River is located in Yellowstone National Park’s Grand Canyon and is a spectacular waterfall. Dropping approximately 308 ft (94 m) over steep rock cliffs to the river below, it is one of the most powerful and awe-inspiring sights in the park. At its base is a broad and scenic V-shaped canyon. With its colorful and rugged rock walls, Lower Falls is a must-see for any visitor to Yellowstone. It's best viewed from Uncle Tom's Trail, a steep climb down into the canyon, allowing visitors to get close to the waterfall but beware of the slippery conditions. The breathtaking sights, rushing waters, and 10-mile-long canyon will make the climb worthwhile. Bring a tripod if you want to capture a long-exposure photo of the thunderous waterfall.
