The Löwenmole is the stone pier marking the entrance to Lindau’s harbour on Lake Constance (Bodensee), crowned by the prominent Bavarian lion sculpture and the neighbouring harbour lighthouse. Visually it reads as a composed tableau—the low, muscular silhouette of the lion gazing across the water with the cylindrical red-and-white lighthouse rising behind—creating a strong foreground-to-background anchor for wide-angle views. The rough stone of the mole, the lion’s patinated surface and the water’s reflective band emphasize texture and scale; on clear days the distant Alpine ridge frames the scene. The site is immediately recognizable from the lakeside promenade and offers straightforward, frontal compositions that pair architecture with expansive lake light.
