📍 From Inside, Germany
Löwenburg, nestled in the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe in Kassel, is a striking neo-Gothic castle built between 1793 and 1801. Primarily designed as a romantic ruin, it provides a playful imitation of a medieval knight's castle. For photo-travelers, the castle offers a dramatic silhouette against the lush park landscape, especially enchanting in early morning or late afternoon light. Inside, the castle features period interiors including a knights’ hall, art collections, and remarkable armor displays. In spring, the surrounding gardens explode with a vibrant palette of colors, which beautifully contrasts with the castle’s stone facade. The park itself is a UNESCO World Heritage site, worth exploring for its cascading waterfalls and expansive views of Kassel.
