The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel located on the banks of the River Thames in London, England, making it one of the most recognizable landmarks in the city and beyond. The wheel has 32 capsules, each attached to the outer rim of the wheel and representing one of the London Boroughs and was the world’s tallest Ferris wheel when erected in 1999. On a clear day, the slow rotating wheel offers great views of London’s iconic landmarks including Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. You can purchase tickets to ride the wheel and take wonderful photos of London’s skyline, alternately walking along the Thames offers plenty of opportunities to take great photographs as well.
