Loenersloot Castle is a stunning and historically significant castle in Loenersloot, Netherlands. It was built in the early 15th century as a fortified manor house by the Van Loe family. At the time, it served as a trading outpost for ships coming in and out of the near by river. Today Loenersloot Castle looks much the same as it did centuries ago. The castle has retained its four-sided courtyard structure, thick stone walls, and three turrets. The castle is open to the public and is an interesting place to explore. Inside the castle is a museum, displaying a variety of historical artifacts. Visitors can also enjoy the expansive gardens surrounding the castle. Jumping off the bridge, located at the edge of the castle are popular activities among tourists. The view is spectacular and the atmosphere is serene and peaceful. Make sure to bring a camera if you visit, as there’s plenty of photo ops!
