Locorotondo is a compact hill town in Puglia’s Valle d’Itria whose name means “round place,” reflecting the circular plan of its whitewashed centro storico perched above olive groves and vineyards. The historic core is visually defined by concentric, narrow alleys, low limestone houses with neat balconies, wrought-iron railings and bursts of potted geraniums that create repeating textures and rhythms for framing. From the town’s belvederes you get sweeping vistas of the valley dotted with trulli and rows of vines that underline Locorotondo’s wine identity (Locorotondo DOC). Photographically, the scene favors side light on the pale façades, close-up studies of stone detail and symmetrical streetscapes, plus rooftop viewpoints that compress foreground terraces against the agricultural patchwork below.
