📍 From Snowdon, United Kingdom
Llyn Llydaw is a mountain lake on the eastern side of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) in Eryri National Park, southeast of Caernarfon. The Miners’ Track from Pen-y-Pass follows its shore and crosses the water on a low stone causeway, a reminder of the area’s former copper-mining activity. Steep slopes and the crags of the Snowdon massif frame the dark water, while the causeway provides the lake’s most recognizable geometry; in calm conditions, reflections emphasize the scale and enclosure of the valley. Llyn Llydaw is also among the Welsh lakes associated with Arthurian tradition. It is reached on foot rather than directly by road, as part of a mountain route.
