The Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, Spain was officially opened in 1929 to serve as the main venue of the 1929 Central European Games. The stadium was named after the President of Catalonia, Lluís Companys. It is a unique football stadium because of its steeply sloping stands and its elliptical openness. The stadium has also hosted various international events including the FC Barcelona matches, the Spain-Ireland rugby match and the athletics event of the 1992 Summer Olympics. The stadium has a seating capacity of approximately 54,000 people, making it the second-largest stadium in Barcelona. It also has two terraces, two running tracks and two training fields for athletes, along with two press boxes and six foul score boards. The stadium is known to be a popular spot for photographers due to the historic narrative and its unique design.
