Located in the Zhuolan Township in Taiwan, Liyutan Reservoir is an artificial lake, surrounded by lush green hills on three sides, that was constructed for irrigation purposes. The reservoir is easily accessible, and is very popular among hikers, with the environment providing a sense of relaxation and peace. The reservoir has a number of interesting rock formations, and spectacular views from the scenic spots all around make it an ideal picnic spot. Boating, fishing, and camping facilities are also available at Liyutan Reservoir, making it an ideal way to spend quality time with nature. Fruit picking is also enjoyed by visitors who want to take advantage of the rural backdrop. The reservoir is also home to a wide variety of bird species, and a bird watching spot has been set up here as well. A multi-purpose greenway has been constructed along the reservoir for visitors interested in leisurely activities such as jogging, biking, and roller-skating.
