Livraria Lello is a bookshop, located in the heart of Porto, Portugal. Established in 1906, it is one of the oldest and most iconic bookstores in the country. It is known for its Art Nouveau decoration, excessive wood paneling and ornate red and gold staircase. The design is said to have been inspired by Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley! The shop has a wide selection of Portuguese books, as well as an impressive selection of foreign fiction and non-fiction titles. Notable names who have visited the bookstore include celebrities such as Cristiano Ronaldo and over a hundred thousand tourists each year. Livraria Lello is a wonderful place to browse books, observe the breathtaking architecture and soak in the rich cultural heritage of Porto.
