The Lighthouse of Dakhla, also known as the Ksar Sghir, is a 34-meter tall tower located in the city of Dakhla in the disputed region of Western Sahara. Built in 1922 to signal the entrance of ships coming to the Dakhla port, this lighthouse still stands as a part of the town's skyline and is a source of pride among local citizens. At a distance of 6 km from the city and just 1 km from the coast, this red-and-white tower is a popular attraction amongst tourists who can appreciate its unique design and also take in the breathtaking views of the bay and nearby mountains that it offers. The complex itself consists of several buildings, including a rest stop, a villa, and a radio station site. Photographers visiting this site can capture stunning shots of the coast and its surroundings, while enjoying the local flavor.
