Liffey Falls is a stunning sight in Tasmania, Australia. It's a set of wide cascading waterfalls, tumbling over the rocks on the Liffey River. The falls are 97 metres high, making it the highest independent single drop waterfall in Australia.
Visitors to Liffey Falls can access the area via an easy 3km loop track, starting from the carpark at the end of the road down the Liffey Valley, at Hunting Ground Hill Road. Enjoy spectacular views of the falls as you walk along the track and have the opportunity to get up close to the steep rocky cleft, where the water spills over into the pool below. Look out for rare plants, including celery-top pine, ancient myrtles and King Billy pines. There is plenty for nature photography enthusiasts who visit the area, including lush eucalypt forests, lush ferns, vivid fungi and the impressive gorges of the Liffey River. The unique rock formations at the falls also make for some lovely shots. So why not take a detour and take some time to admire the natural beauty of Liffey Falls.
