📍 From Szent Gellért rkp, Hungary
The Liberty Bridge (Szabadság híd) is a bridge built of stone and steel in Budapest, Hungary, across the Danube connecting Buda and Pest. The bridge was opened in 1896, and later rebuilt in structure and design twice. It is the third oldest served bridge of the city and a symbol of the Hungarian nation. It features four tall columns carrying equestrian statues of Hungarian monarchs and baroque lamp-posts between them. It is the most southern bridge of Budapest and it offers spectacular views of the city, the Danube and the neighboring hills. Liberty Bridge is a great spot to take pictures of the sunrise and sunset, lights reflecting off the Danube’s surface and the surrounding monuments, including the Hungarian Parliament, Castle Hill and the Chain Bridge.
