Leuchtturm Wangerooge is a striking, distinctive lighthouse located on the small island of Wangerooge, Germany. The magnificent beacon, which was built in 1909, is one of the most familiar landmarks on the Friesian Islands. The structure stands at 32m (105ft) tall and is surrounded by a lush green park, creating an ideal setting. It is a popular tourist attraction and it is open to the public daily between April and October. Visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding sea and islands from atop the lighthouse's viewing platform. It is also a great place for nature walks, beachcombing and birdwatching. Be sure to bring your camera, as there are no shortage of stunning photographs to capture on a sunny day.
