The Leuchtturm Kiel-Holtenau lighthouse is one of the most iconic landmarks in the city of Kiel, Germany. This beautiful red-brick, octagonal-shaped structure was built in 1893 at the entrance to the Kiel Canal and still stands today, helping ships navigate the waters by night and day. Visitors can take tours of the lighthouse and climb up to the top to appreciate the stunning views across the canal. The lighthouse can be accessed easily by car or by public transport taking the train to Kiel-Wik and then cycling or walking the rest of the way. There are also plenty of photo opportunities.
