Leipziger Platz in Berlin, Germany is a vibrant, busy square located on the southwestern edge of the city. It is adorned with a number of historic buildings, restaurants and museums, making it an incredibly popular area of Berlin for visitors. The former site of the Stadtschloss (City Palace), which was destroyed in WWII, now occupies a portion of the square. Found at the heart of Leipziger Platz are the Flagge des Grossen Kurfursten (Flag of the Great Elector). At one end, is the main entrance to the Sony Centre, a modern entertainment venue and the luxurious shopping centre Galleria Kaufhof. In addition, Hotel Adlon and Kempinski offer the grandeur of a glamorous century-old style hotel. Surrounded by many cafes and fine dining restaurants, Leipziger Platz is the ideal spot for visitors to get a taste of 'old Berlin' whilst enjoying the exciting nightlife.
