📍 From Front, Iceland
Leifur Eiríksson and Hallgrimskirkja are both popular and renowned Reykjavík destinations! Located just a few blocks from each other, these sights are a must-see for any traveler to Iceland's capital. Leifur Eiríksson, located near the waterfront and Reykjavík's city center, is a statue of the famous Icelandic explorer, who is credited with being the first European to discover and set foot on the Americas in the 11th century. Taking a picture at this statue is usually a fun shot, with the historic Reykjavík City Hall in the background. Hallgrimskirkja is the tallest church in Iceland and is easily visible from downtown Reykjavík. Inside the church are beautiful stained glass windows depicting Reykjavík's landscape, as well as a wooden choir loft. The bell tower provides visitors the opportunity to climb and admire the gorgeous panoramic view of Reykjavík. Both of these sights should not be missed!
