The cathedral’s construction started in the 11th century and was completed in the 13th century, though slight modifications were made in the 19th century. An impressive 39m tall steeple with a blue octogonal spire is visible from miles away and the rose window on the south façade is a popular photo spot. Visitors can walk around the exterior and admire the fine stone carvings that adorn the facade. Inside, the richly decorated cathedral is home to a variety of works of art such as sculptures, tombs, and a beautiful wood-paneled ceiling. There is also the treasury, filled with various religious artifacts, which is open to visitors.
