📍 From Fountain, France
Le Char d'Apollon is an iconic sculptural monument located in the gardens of the famed Palace of Versailles, France. Created by sculptor Jean-Baptiste Tuby in 1747, it celebrates the triumphant reign of Louis XV. The sculpture is an impressive 10 metres in length, taking the form of a four wheeled chariot led by four majestic horses. On top sits a golden eagle, the symbol of Apollo, the god of the sun. The chariot has long held a place in the view of the chateau, and remains an impressive sight today.
