
The Law Courts of Brussels is the largest court complex in Europe and a significant part of the city's skyline. An impressive building featuring a mixture of architectural styles, the complex was designed by world-renowned architect Joseph Poelaert and opened in 1883. Situated on Place Poelaert, the complex is considered a touristic landmark in Brussels and is also recognized as a UNESCO world heritage site. The main court, the Palais de Justice, is a sprawling yet harmonious combination of neo-gothic and neoclassical design, adorned with an impressive collection of statues and sculptures. The building also houses a number of other prominent courts. Today, it is a true architectural gem in Brussels that should not be missed by visitors. It is also a popular spot for photography.
