Latona's Pool and Parterre & Latona Stairs is a stunning part of the Grand Fountain Scene of Versailles, a tourist attraction in France. The pool is shaped like a star, framed by low trees and lined with flowerbeds. It is flanked by an array of parterres, terraces and white steps. It is said to be inspired by the story of Latona, a daughter of the Titans, who refused to let her fate be decided by those who were deemed unworthy. This area of Versailles is most beautiful during the summer months when the hedges are in full bloom and bright colored flowers fill the landscape. Walking the grounds of this grandeur will take you back in time to the kingdom of King Louis XIV with all its opulence and history.
