Located in the north of Croatia, Plitvice Lakes National Park is one of the most spectacular and well-preserved parks in Europe. Spanning a whopping 29,500 hectares, the park consists of 16 interconnected lakes cascading over travertine dams and rivulets, with lush forests and meadows as its backdrop. There are numerous hiking trails and boat rides to enjoy, and it's common to spot wild deer and wolves while exploring the park. Visitors come to marvel at the intimidating beauty formed by the nature, especially the renowned Upper and Lower Lakes. With hundreds of species of flora and fauna, both endemic and exotic, Plitvice Lakes is a must-see destination for nature lovers. There are three entrances to the park (Entrance 1, Entrance 2 and Entrance 3), and several accommodation options available for those interested in an extended stay.
