With a length of 11.2 miles and a width of 0.5 miles, the lake offers spectacular views over the surrounding hills and valleys. Take a boat ride to admire the stunning scenery – popular routes include Windemere-Lockerley and Bowness-Windermere. After that, explore some of the nearby attractions such as Brockhole visitor centre, where you will find a host of activities, from climbing walls to birdwatching. If you are interested in walking or cycling, you will find many trails to follow around the lake's circumference. From Wray Castle to Lakeside and Haverthwaite Steam Railway, you won't be short of things to do.
