Potentially the most well-known destination of Glacier National Park, Lake McDonald is a stunning 10-mile-long expanse of deep blue water surrounded by vast mountains. This beautiful lake, fed by two major streams, allows for amazing views of nearly the entire park and is a great place for travelers and photographers to come and explore. An array of activities awaits, from canoeing and kayaking to taking a hike along its edges or perhaps simply a leisurely meander around its shores. Although its glacier presence has waned due to climate change, its spires and cliffs still provide a stunning backdrop for the lake. It’s no surprise that Lake McDonald is one of the park’s most beloved destinations.
