
Located in downtown North Hatley, Lake Massawippi is one of the most picturesque lakes in all of Canada. Popular among anglers and photographers, the lake spans 9 km in length and 3 km in width with a maximum depth of 18 meters. With its calm waters and secluded shoreline, Lake Massawippi is a wildlife paradise. The lake is home to fish species such as lake trout, smallmouth bass, yellow perch and northern pike. The lake is connected to Massawippi River by a short channel at its western end. The lake’s shores are filled with lovely cottages and other summer homes, as well as a beautiful beach. On the east side of the lake lies Havelock Park, with hiking paths, a children’s park, a putting green and an athletic facility. The nearby Chef Lake provides canoeing, kayaking and and a nature reserve.
