Laguna Humantay is an awe inspiring mountain lake located in the Andes of Peru, south of the city of Cusco. This high-altitude lake is perched high in a valley, surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Andes. It is one of the most popular destinations for trekkers and mountaineers in the region and has become an increasingly popular destination for photographers. A hike to the lagoon requires a 4 hour walk up an increasingly steep path and trekkers are rewarded with breathtaking views of the lagoon, its surrounding mountains and valleys, and the striking glacial ridge of Humantay mountain. While at the lagoon, visitors can admire the turquoise colored water, mini icebergs, and the various wildflowers that fill the valley. It is a unique and unforgettable experience!
