Laguna Esmeralda is an unusually coloured lake located in the middle of the Argentine Patagonia. The lake owes its emerald green water to the abundant sediments that pass down from the glaciers and the rising of iron levels and the low alkalinity of its waters. The lake is surrounded by the imposing peak of Cerro Castillo where travellers and photographers can capture beautiful sights. Nearby and connected to the lake are forests, waterfalls and turquoise streams. All together with the volcanoes and glaciers in the area, making Laguna Esmeralda a spectacular beauty in the Argentine Patagonia.
