Lagoa Azul and Miradouro da Grota do Inferno are two spectacular points of view located in Sete Cidades, Portugal. Lagoa Azul is a crater lake of exquisite beauty, located in an old volcanic crater, with an intense blue color and surrounded by eucalyptus and pine trees. The lake presents an imposing panorama of one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the Azores Islands. The Miradouro da Grota do Inferno is a viewpoint at the top of this volcanic crater, with views to Lagoa Azul, the forested hills and São Miguel Island. Its curious name came from the mist and clouds that form a curtain around the edge of the crater and descend into the lake. This is a very tranquil and peaceful place, perfect for hiking and taking in the beauty of nature.
