Lago Sorapis path is a stunning 5 miles hike in the Dolomites. Starting just on the outskirts of Cortina d'Ampezzo, the path winds around the lake and up the mountains, leading you to the frozen glacial waters of the lake. Along the way, you'll come across dramatic landscapes of rocky cliffs and lush valleys, with breathtaking views of both the lake and the surrounding landscapes. The highlight of the hike is reaching the Pilon Station, a mountain peak at the centre of the lake's waters. Not only it offers views of the lake, but also of the nearby mountains, whose colors range from light beige to rich brown, depending on the time of day. The hike is truly a wonderful experience and should not be missed. While it can be done in half a day, it’s best to have a long break in the middle of the hike to fully enjoy the breathtaking views. Be sure to bring plenty of food, drinks, and cameras.
