Lago di Anterselva, also known as Antholzer See in German, is a stunning glacial lake located in the province of South Tyrol in northern Italy. The lake is about 1750 m above sea level, surrounded by the black punk Rieserferner Group of the Italian Alps and the Italian Dolomites. The lake is most famous for its abundance of trout, and has become the centre of fishing and lazing activities for local and foreign travellers alike. The picturesque surroundings of Lago di Anterselva provide spectacular views of the surrounding mountain peaks which are dotted with wildflowers in the warmer months. Many hiking trails can be found near the lake, including the ‘Path of Oases’, with its fascinating landscape featuring rocks, meadows and glaciers. From the lake, the romantic villages of Rasen-Antholz and Antholz-Mittertal are visible, providing charming photo opportunities of traditional Tyrolean architecture. With its rich wildlife and breathtaking scenery, Lago di Anterselva is an enchanting spot for travellers and photographers alike.
