Si Shui Ling village is an ancient village in southeastern China, located in Nanxi district, Shantou city. It’s a quiet village, with narrow yet cozy lanes, ancient temples, and quaint stone houses. The biggest attraction is the 300-year-old ancient ancestral hall, a three-story structure. Here lies the living history of the inhabitants. The village also houses some of China’s well-preserved Southern Fujianese architectural artifacts, like the Wenwu temple, which was built before Qing Dynasty. The columns used in the temple are made from stone, which gives off a unique charm. The Yuancun precinct which is around the Wenwu temple, has two ancient places: a Winery and Zhuan Cashew factory. It is also said that the area is a great stopover for bird watching, as it houses several rare species. Si Shui Ling is dotted with various sculptures, mostly Chinese gods, which offer brilliant photographic opportunities, but one should be aware to respect their local culture.
