Lac Mercier is a freshwater lake beside Mont-Tremblant’s old village in Quebec’s Laurentians, separate from the pedestrian resort at the foot of the ski mountain. The village’s municipal beach sits on its shore, while the P’tit Train du Nord trail follows a former railway corridor along the lake, connecting this waterside setting to the region’s railway history. Wooded hills frame the water, contrasting with the village buildings near the shoreline. In autumn, the surrounding deciduous trees bring strong bands of red, orange, and yellow to the slopes; when the surface is still, their reflections make the lake’s enclosed, hilly setting especially clear.
