Lac de Sainte-Croix, in Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon, France, is a stunning glacial lake located in the French Alps. Its high crystal-clear waters are bordered by sheer white limestone cliffs, vegetation and jutting rock formations that form an impressive wilderness scene. The lake is also used for a variety of outdoor activities, from swimming, windsurfing, and kayaking to fishing, rafting, and hiking. Along the shoreline, you can find inviting beaches or make your way up to some of the smaller villages that offer breathtaking views of the lake.
