Lac d’Annecy borders Sévrier on its western shore, just south of Annecy in Haute-Savoie. This glacial Alpine lake lies between the Semnoz massif and the steep eastern ranges dominated by La Tournette, giving the shoreline a striking contrast of open water, wooded slopes and pale limestone peaks. From Sévrier, views extend across the lake toward the eastern mountains, whose faces often take on warmer tones in late-day light; calm conditions bring clear reflections, especially around small harbors and jetties. The lakeside cycle route follows part of the former railway corridor, linking Sévrier with Annecy and villages farther south while offering long, unobstructed stretches beside the water.
