La Portalá is an iconic monument located in Comillas, northern Spain. It was designed by Antonio Gaudi in 1881 as a funeral chapel for the Madoz family but it was never used. Over the years, it has been restored and converted into a pilgrim's stopover. Today, it serves as a great reminder of its past history with its intricate design and ornamentation. Visitors can explore the areas both inside and outside the building, including the patio surrounded by columns and a small crypt. Visitors will find stunning views of the Cantabrian Sea here as well. Make sure to take a stroll around the grounds and admire the stunning architecture of this unique monument.
