Standing in Seville is the magnificence of the La Giralda - an ancient tower and bell tower. Built together with the city's cathedral in the early 16th century, the La Giralda is a cherished symbol of Seville. Its unique architecture makes it a must-see for visitors, with the base of the tower being built in an Islamic style combined with the Renaissance style. The tower is a whopping 104 metres tall and the structure is encircled with golden medallions that bear the symbol of the city and Spain. Its alluring Moorish inspired bell tower is a remarkable sight with a captivating balcony that has brought admirers for generations. Nearby there is a large plaza that is perfect to explore in one’s leisure. Legend has it that the tower was originally just an ancient minaret, which was used in different ways throughout history.
