📍 From Marbella Club Hotel, Spain
La Concha is the 1,215-metre summit of the Sierra Blanca, rising immediately north of Marbella and forming the city’s unmistakable mountain backdrop. Its name, Spanish for “the shell,” refers to the curved profile seen from the coast. Pale, rugged slopes contrast with Marbella’s dense urban strip and the deep blue Mediterranean, creating a strong sense of scale in skyline photographs. From the ridge, clear conditions reveal the Costa del Sol, Gibraltar and the mountains of North Africa across the Strait. The principal hiking approach begins near Refugio de Juanar above Ojén; the route is steep and rocky, with exposed sections that require appropriate footwear and care.
