📍 Myanmar (Burma)
Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the world's largest book, is located at the foot of Mandalay Hill. The pagoda complex contains 729 marble slabs inscribed with the entire Theravada Buddhist scriptures, each housed in individual small stupas called kyauksa gu. For photographers, early morning and late afternoon offer the best light to capture the pagoda's dazzling white stupas against the vibrant greenery. The golden Buddha statue inside the main pagoda presents an excellent subject for detail-oriented shots. Look out for the distinct architectural symmetry and ornate carvings, and don't miss the serene reflections in the nearby water bodies, especially after a rain. The complex tends to be less crowded during weekdays, providing opportunities for uninterrupted shooting.
