Kurshskaya Kosa is the Russian section of the Curonian Spit, a narrow sand peninsula separating the Baltic Sea from the Curonian Lagoon in Kaliningrad Oblast. Near Morskoye, the spit is defined by high dune ridges, pine forest, pale beaches and broad lagoon views shaped by wind and shifting sand. This transboundary UNESCO-listed cultural landscape reflects centuries of human efforts to stabilize mobile dunes through planting and forest management. The Efa Height trail near the village offers elevated perspectives across sculpted dune slopes and the lagoon, while marked boardwalks protect the fragile surface from erosion; visitors should remain on designated paths.
