Kunsthaus Bregenz is a contemporary art museum on Kornmarktplatz, close to the Lake Constance waterfront in central Bregenz. Completed in 1997 by Swiss architect Peter Zumthor, it is conceived as a restrained glass cube whose etched façade filters daylight into the concrete galleries. The museum presents changing exhibitions, often developed in response to its unusually spare interior spaces. Outside, the gridded glass skin shifts from pale and reflective in daylight to softly luminous after dark, creating a striking contrast with the surrounding historic cityscape and nearby Vorarlberg Museum.
