Krúsrak
📍 Netherlands
Krúsrak is a centuries-old building situated in Sneek, Netherlands. Built in the 16th century and once used by the Dutch East India Company, it is now a much-visited tourist attraction. Notable features of the building include its beautifully preserved timber framing and restored façade, complete with clay tiles. Inside, visitors can explore the chapel, reception hall, and three balconies, as well as the banquet hall with its original pews, altar and organ. Additionally, Krúsrak houses the Frysk Maritiem Museum, which displays a collection of maritime artefacts collected over the centuries. Visitors can enjoy the museum's educational exhibits by guided tours by local experts, in addition to Krúsrak's refreshingly peaceful atmosphere. Notably, due to the building's significance to Dutch cultural heritage, it has been placed on the Tentative List for potential UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
