Kruis, in Wegscheid, Germany is a small town nestled in the Upper Palatinate Forest in Lower Bavaria. It sits in a picturesque valley, surrounded by breathtaking old-growth forests and rolling hills. Towering above the town is an impressive Medieval castle, which was constructed in the 17th century and is now listed as a protected national monument.

Kruis is a great destination for nature enthusiasts, with plenty of excellent walking trails winding through the surrounding nature preserve. The stunning views and peaceful atmosphere make it a popular spot for birdwatchers, hikers and nature photographers. There are also dedicated bike paths that wind through the forest, with the trails ending at the castle. Kruis is also the site of the annual Bohemian Festival, a lively, colourful celebration that celebrates the region's folk culture. The small town itself is filled with cobblestone streets and traditional Bavarian buildings, lined with quaint shops, boutiques and cafes, as well as plenty of photo opportunities. Finally, Kruis also attracts visitors for its local thermal baths. This centuries-old spa attraction is located on the edge of town and features five unique outdoor and indoor pools and baths, as well as plenty of relaxation areas.
