Kraftwerk Weiher is a popular excursion destination in Quierschied, Germany. Located at the foot of Selberg mountain, it is surrounded by spectacular scenery and beautiful forests. The infrastructure of the area was created in 1972 and was used for electricity generation for many years, now converted into a leisure area for visitors. It includes a lake, a chapel, a bistro, and several trails for hikers and cyclists. There is also an adjacent pheasantry, which is a lifetime experience for birdwatchers. You can observe a variety of species, such as black grouse, mute swan and common crane. If you wish, you can camp overnight or stay in one of Kraftwerk Weiher’s cabins for a very reasonable fee. It is definitely a great destination for those looking to enjoy nature, discover local history and culture, or simply relax.
