Koepelkerk (aka Dome Church) is a stunningly beautiful church located in Willemstad, Netherlands. It is one of the oldest churches in the area and has an ornate interior adorned with colourful frescoes and patinas. Built in 1677, it set the template for baroque churches and was the first one built in Willemstad. The church was designed by Dutch architect Daniel Marot and the cupola was designed by French architect Constantinus Regnault. Inside the church stands a beautiful spiral staircase which takes visitors to a balcony above the main altar. The church also has a huge pipe organ and a 3.75 metres high monument to the military commander of Willemstad, Michea Tjerkama. Visitors can explore the church as part of a guided tour or view it from the outside.
