📍 From Knaresborough Castle, United Kingdom
Knaresborough Viaduct and Knaresborough Castle are two historic landmarks located in the North Yorkshire region of the United Kingdom. The Knaresborough Viaduct, built in 1851, consists of 16 arches and spans the River Nidd and stretches for 450 feet. It is a beautiful Victorian railway bridge and visitors will enjoy wandering along its length and admiring the views. On the opposite bank of the river, upon a high rock outcrop, stands the ruins of Knaresborough Castle. The castle dates to the 11th century and a steep stone staircase, known as Burgate leads up to the remains of this once impressive structure. Visitors to the castle are able to explore the substantial remains of the walls, windows and towers and can take in stunning views of the town and countryside below.
