Klosterkirche St. Marienthal is the church of a Cistercian convent beside the Lusatian Neisse, just outside Ostritz near Germany’s border with Poland. The convent has roots in the 13th century and remains an active religious community, while the church and surrounding buildings largely present a Baroque face. Its clustered roofs and church façade stand against the greenery of the river valley, giving the scene a clear sense of both monastic enclosure and borderland landscape.
