📍 Norway
Kleivafossen is a compact waterfall set in the steep terrain around Geiranger, where upland streams descend toward Geirangerfjorden. Its name reflects the landscape: “kleiv” refers to a steep slope or path, while “foss” means waterfall. The scene is more intimate than Geiranger’s distant fjord cascades, with foaming water, dark wet rock and dense green vegetation filling the frame. Flow and texture become especially pronounced during snowmelt and after rainfall, emphasizing the rugged, water-shaped character of the Geirangerfjord landscape.
