Klaipėda Drama Theatre is one of the oldest theatres in Lithuania, founded in 1912. The theatre has a permanent ensemble and offers a wide variety of plays and performances, from classic plays such as "Hamlet" to modern-day shows like "The Barber of Seville". The theatre also hosts international festivals and events, such as the annual OperAteca International Contemporary Opera Festival. The building itself is an impressive old building, with ornate designs and sculptures adorning the walls. The interior is richly decorated and the stage is large and impressive. It has excellent acoustics and good sight lines. The theatre has a visual arts gallery and regular exhibitions of contemporary artists. It is located in the Old Town of Klaipėda and can be easily reached on foot.
