Kishiwada Castle
📍 Japan
Kishiwada Castle, located in the city of Kishiwada in Osaka Prefecture, Japan, is one of the most beautiful historical structures in Japan. The castle was originally built in 1597 by the kannushi priest Kiyomasa Kato, who was an outstanding military commander of the time. The castle was built atop a hill, and provides impressive views of the surrounding areas, including the Kishiwada Danjiri Festival. The castle grounds have been designated as a Historic Site, selected by the Japanese government, and serve as a reminder of Japan's long and vibrant history. The building still stands, and visitors may take in the old-world charm and explore the various buildings on site. There are even a few remaining watchtowers that command views of the entire area. One of the main attractions of the castle is Hikone-en, a stunning and exquisite Japanese garden, with rare and exotic flora varieties from all around Japan. Visitors and photographers will love to explore this spot and snap a few pictures of the garden.
