Kirkstall Abbey is a ruined Cistercian monastery in Kirkstall, Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Founded in 1152, it was one of the most important monasteries of its time. Throughout its history, the abbey served as a spiritual and political hub for much of the region. Today, the ruins attract a steady stream of tourists.

Kirkstall Abbey is the best preserved Cistercian monastery in Britain and the ruins offer a fascinating glimpse into medieval life. Spanning almost a hundred acres, the abbey's surviving remains are mostly from the 13th and 14th centuries, although several buildings from earlier periods survive. Highlights include the impressive ruin of the abbey church, with its remaining arches and vaults, as well as the chapter house and the monastic cloister. The abbey is also home to a popular visitor centre.
